Double or triple this recipe to make a large bowl of gucamole
- 2 Small Hass Avocados or 1 large Avocado
- 1 Medium Tomato
- 1/4 Red Onion
- 1 Jalapeno Pepper, *see note
- 1 Garlic Clove
- 2T Fresh Cilantro
- 1 Lime, fresh squeezed
- 1/2t Sea Salt or Himalayan Salt
- 1/8 teaspoon Fresh Ground Pepper
Note – for spicier guacamole add jalapeno seeds and membranes. For mild guacamole substitute one-fourth to one-third green bell pepper.
DIRECTIONS
- Slice avocado in half. Remove pit and skin. Cut avocado in chunks. Chop tomato. Dice onion. Cut-up jalapeno. Leave membranes and seeds for spicier guacamole. Chop cilantro leaves. Mince garlic.
- Or use a garlic press. Add all ingredients to a medium mixing bowl. Or chop onion, jalapeno, cilantro, and garlic in a food processor. Then mix with diced avocados and tomatoes.
- Squeeze fresh lime. Add lime juice to bowl along with salt and pepper. Use more or less to taste. Mix well and serve. Optional – garnish with whole cilantro leaves.
- Guacamole may be chilled before serving. Squirt fresh lime juice over top of guacamole. And cover tightly to prevent browning.
- Serve as a dip with homemade tortilla chips and/or fresh cut vegetables. Or serve with your favorite Mexican entrée.
