INGREDIENTS
YOnanas Machine, http://www.yonanas.com/page/why-its-healthy.aspx
Fresh or frozen berries and/or peaches or other fruit, preferably organic, see note
Unsweetened coconut or almond milk – optional, from carton not can, 50 cals/cup or less
Guar gum – optional, all natural used in commercial frozen confections to keep it soft enough to bite
DIRECTIONS:
SORBET – freeze fresh berries and/or or use packaged frozen berries and/or peaches. Run the fruit through the YOnanas machine three times for sorbet. You can use any combination of fruit that you want. Over ripe bananas are high in natural sugar and will sweeten the sorbet naturally. Cherries and mangos are also higher in sugar and therefore sweeter than berries and peaches.
SOFT-SERVE “ICE CREAM” – mix unsweetened coconut or almond milk and guar gum, for every 1 cup of coconut milk use 1/4t of guar gum. Freeze in ice cube trays or 3 oz. paper dixie cups (only fill 1/4th of the way full). Add the frozen coconut milk and guar gum to the YOnanas machine along with the frozen berries and/or peaches. Run the mixture through three times for creamy soft serve “ice cream”. Do not do this without the guar gum it will break your YOnanas machine.
FROZEN YOGURT – If you aren’t dairy-free you can also use 0% fat plain Greek-yogurt and freeze it the same way, instead of coconut milk. Be sure to add the guar gum to it so it doesn’t break the YOnanas machine.
NOTE: Guar gum is all natural, find it at the health food store. It is made from the seed of the guar bean. Please buy organic peaches, blueberries, and strawberries they are on the “Dirty Dozen” list of the most heavily sprayed produce.
i love the taste of guar gum because it can used as a base for bread.-
