Barbecue Beef Short Ribs Grilled Recipe
Barbecue Beef Short Ribs Griled Recipe for the best ribs ever use homemade marinade & barbeque sauce or make it easy by using these tasty organic brands.
INGREDIENTS – please use organic ingredients
- 4 Pounds Beef Short Ribs
- 2 to 2-1/2C Marinade, recipe follows or use Bill’s Organic BBQ Sauce
- Optional – Barbeque Sauce, recipe follows or use Mr. Spice Organic Marinade
DIRECTIONS – mix marinade in a shallow, glass baking dish. Add ribs in a single layer. Evenly coat ribs with marinade. Refrigerate two to four hours. Turning at least once with tongs while marinating. Prepare grill for indirect heat. Remove ribs from marinade. Place on hot grill over indirect heat. Turn ribs every 15 to 20 minutes. Brush with marinade each time. Keep marinade in refrigerator, when not in use. Grill ribs until browned on both sides. And cooked through. Grill for a total of 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Optional – once ribs are browned on both sides. Discard unused marinade. And replace with barbeque sauce. Continue to turn ribs every 15 to 20 minutes. Brushing with sauce each time. Grill for a total of 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Or until cooked through. Serve with additional barbeque sauce.
BEEF SHORT RIB MARINADE
INGREDIENTS – please use organic ingredients
- 1-1/2C Red Wine—like Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon, sulfate free
- 1C Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 1/2C Fresh Lemon or Lime Juice
- 4 Cloves Garlic, sliced in half
- 1 Onion, sliced
- 1 Bell Pepper or for spicier ribs use jalapeno, Serrano, Chili Pepper, or Habanero
- Fresh Herbs and/or dried herbs like bay leaf, oregano, rosemary, and thyme
- 5-6 Black Peppercorns or for spicier ribs use red pepper flakes
DIRECTIONS – mix all ingredients in a glass bowl or in a shallow glass baking dish before adding ribs.
BEST BARBEQUE SAUCE – TEXAS STYLE
INGREDIENTS – please use organic ingredients
- 1-1/2C ketchup
- 1/2C water or dry white wine
- 1/4C olive or coconut oil
- 1/2 Onion, cut in quarters
- 4 garlic cloves, cut in half
- 1 Celery Stalk with leaves
- 1/4C lemon juice
- 2T Blackstrap Molasses or unpasteurized raw honey
- 2T Apple Cider vinegar
- 1/4C Worcestershire sauce
- 2t Liquid Smoke—optional
- 1T Smoked paprika
- 1/4 t Chipotle pepper powder or up to 2T for hotter sauce
- 1 Hot Pepper—seeds and membranes for hotter sauce
- OR
- 1/2 Bell Pepper for mild
- 1 Bay Leaf
DIRECTIONS—in a small saucepan, add all ingredients, bring to boil on stove top, reduce heat and simmer 1-2 hours. Strain or remove cooked vegetables, peppers, bay leaf.
