Smoothies make great low-calorie breakfasts to-go. Smoothies are a great way to get more fruits and vegetables into your diet. Smoothies can help promote weight loss. The right smoothie is a great choice when you’re on a diet. Choose a smoothie that contains vegetables along with fresh or frozen fruit. Do not add sweeteners, especially refined sugar. If your smoothie isn’t sweet enough, try using a natural Medjool Date. Pit the date, chop it, then add it to the blender. Along with all other smoothie ingredients. Choose fresh squeezed juice, unsweetened coconut water, or a low calorie nut milk as the liquid in your smoothie. Always add protein to your smoothie. This offsets the natural sugar in it. And helps keep your blood sugar levels from spiking. Use hemp hearts or hemp seeds, chia seeds, ground flax seeds, soaked and/or sprouted raw nuts, silken tofu, unsweetened nut butter, or unsweetened protein powder.
